Patient rights and obligations

Right to quality

Patients are entitled to encounter health services, staff and structures dedicated only to the objective of curing them.

Right to decide

Patients have the right, on the basis of information they are given, and without prejudice to the prerogatives of physicians, to retain their own decision-making and responsibilities with regard to their health and life.

Right to information and medical records

Patients are entitled to receive all diagnosis and therapy information in a correct, clear and exhaustive manner, including indications of any connected discomfort, pain or risks.

They also have the right to receive documentation they may need and any declarations that will serve to certify their state of health in a complete fashion.

Except for urgent cases where delays may bring health risks
patients are entitled to be given information that will allow them to express an effectively informed agreement before being subjected to therapies or operations that entail risks or discomfort following the treatment.

Right to respect and trust

Patients are entitled to be assisted and treated with care and attention, with respect for their dignity, privacy and modesty

Right to a normal way of life

Compatibly with the health structure's organizational requirements, patients have the right to a normal way of life, including wake-up and meal times, social relations and entertainment.

Right to comfort

Patients are entitled to demand the application of the strictest hygiene rules, especially in bathrooms, showers, floors, bed linen and crockery.

They are entitled to be accommodated in rooms with at least one window to the exterior, with a comfortable bed and furniture for storing personal belongings, for refuse disposal, etc. To have available suitably furnished common rooms for meeting and recreation. To have a telephone available and service such as hairdresser, coffee bar, newspapers etc. To have a good quality and varied diet, whose hygiene is assured.

Obligations towards the clinic

Patients using the clinic are requested to behave responsibly at all times, respecting and understanding the rights of other patients and of clinic staff.

Obligations towards clinic staff

The patients must show trust and respect towards clinic staff, an indispensable premise for implementing a correct programme of therapy and assistance.

In order to ensure the greatest benefits, patients are asked to respect the schedules and commitments of each department.

Obligations towards property

Patients are asked to respect the clinic's premises, equipment and furnishings.

Obligations towards the treatment programme

Patients undertake to avoid excessive use of alcohol and medication in order prevent negative interference with the therapy programme.

Patients undertake also to request and respect entry and exit passes.
